Character Creation

Character creation more or less follows the process set out in the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition Rules. However, it is not the same.  

Concept

  At character creation, no arcane edges may be learned, and any edges learned must be at Novice level.    

Ancestry

  All characters start with the following Ancestry features:
  • Low light vision: Low Light Vision ignores penalties forDim and Dark Illumination (but not PitchDarkness).
  • Not from around here hindrance: -2 on all Common Knowledge rolls
  • Let's try that again: upon death, reincarnates in the room of the Eye. Probably.

Hindrances

  • All characters may choose UP TO 4 points of hindrances
  • For 2 Hindrance points you can raise an attribute one die type.
  • For 1 Hindrance point you can gain another skill point.
  • For 2 Hindrance points, you can gain one novice level edge (not arcane).
 

Attributes

  All characters start with the following attributes:
  • Agility d4
  • Smarts: d4
  • Spirit: d4
  • Strength d4
  • Vigor d4
You have 5 points to apply to attributes. 1 point increases on attribute by one die type.

Skills

  All characters start with the following skills:  
  • Athletics d4
  • Common Knowledge d4 (note: -2 penalty)
  • Notice d4
  • Persuasion d4
  • Stealth d4
Skills may not be improved at this point. No further skills may be learned.  

Derived Statistics

  Pace: 6 metres base (adjust for edges and hindrances) Toughness: Half of vigor + 2. Parry: Parry is 2 at this stage.
