Goblin Species in Eacatis | World Anvil

Goblin

Goblins are mean little fellows. The problem is that they are usually found in massive groups.

- Citizen in Jingzhou

Basic Information

Anatomy

Generally humanoid in shape with two legs and two arms. Goblins are shorter then humans.

Ecology and Habitats

Goblins build lairs underground, preferring to have a cave system mostly ready, either in the form of natural caverns, or by using structures of other species, like sewers. Goblins can be found all around the world in various densities with the lowest densities in high mountains.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Only the strongest and smartest rule the Goblins as a boss, their power stretching to a single lair, but some manage to stretch their power to other lairs, making that Goblin a king or queen.

Domestication

Trying to domesticate a Goblin is futile and will only end in resentment that will mark the beginning to your end.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Adapted for a life underground in the shadows of other civilisations, Goblins have excellent vision in the dark, even if it's only in a greyscale.

Their hearing is generally a little better then humans, but that is debatable, since it only applies to certain frequency ranges.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Goblins are generally seen as a pest, but if they settle into the sewers of a large city, people might not even notice their presence for years, since they maintain the sewers in order to keep their mushroom farms going. In that case the relationship between Goblins and the species living on the streets could be seen as symbiotic. The best example can be found when it took decades for people in Jingzhou to notice that the Goblins basically had taken over the sewers.

Civilization and Culture

Common Myths and Legends

Maglubiyet the Mighty One, the Lord of Depths and Darkness, is the greater god of goblinoids. He is worshipped out of fear, for it is said that a Goblins soul will enter Maglybiyets armies once death has passed.
