Requirements

  • The king must at least 16 years of age
  • The must be fully able bodied

Appointment

If no heir has been chosen by the king when he dies, the nobles come together in order to choose the next king. While there is no legal requirement for the king to come from noble houses, this is what usually happens.

Duties

The duties of the king are as follows:
  • He shall act in the best interest of his subordinates at all times.
  • His country comes before any others.

The only way someone can be stripped of this title is if the people make an uprising and remove it by force.

Cultural Significance

In Baugyse people view the office differently, depending on who has it and how it is used. Currently the king is seen as an oppressor, even though he didn't start as such.

Outsiders almost never meet anyone sitting as king. Usually they only meet nobles at most.
