Fae

The Fae are the species closest to plants. They are vegetarians and will never willingly harm any form of life. Fae seek no glory and prefer to stay in their forests and away from other races. Fae generally look like humans on the short side, but with ears shaped like rose petals. They work with their surroundings to form defenses, and havens for those who deserve them. Fae's existence is certainly not secret to most, but they are usually seen as insignificant, useless, and rather stupid, but not always in a hateful way.

The Fae tend to speak whichever language is considered to be the common tongue at the time.

Culture and cultural heritage

They have their own culture unknown to almost all other races, but it is based upon caring for each other, their forest home, and worthy travelers. Because Fae are all so attuned to plants, it is said that the first Fae were born from plants

Shared customary codes and values

The Fae believe that all life is sacred, and that help easy to give is help that should be given

Common Etiquette rules

It is polite to abstain from eating meat in front of a fae.

Common Dress code

Most fae wear plant fiber or animal fleece items. Sometimes, they even wear live plants as clothes, and with their magic they keep them alive.

Art & Architecture

Fae never cut down trees for lumber, but they will often ask trees to form shelters for their use. Fae enjoy painting, but they especially like dancing, singing, and music.

Funerary and Memorial customs

A deceased Fae will be buried and from them will grow their favorite plant kept in a burial garden of other departed Fae. Loved ones of a dead Fae will sometimes find that, in times of need, the plant grown from the dead Fae can talk and advise them.

Fae that eat animal meat are considered savage and often estranged from their society

Beauty Ideals

Beauty is not highly valued among the Fae, but wavy light brown hair, green eyes, smooth skin, and a slightly rounded figure are considered attractive even though this is an accurate description of most Fae.

Gender Ideals

With Fae, gender is even more meaningless than their sex because many Fae are both sexes like plants (please do not ask because I do not want to try to think about that but let's just say magic). In fact, they actually find people who make a big deal about one sex/gender kind of weird, but for them it's more like tatoos; if you have like a small one and you don't show it off you're just a normal person, but if your entire body is covered in really dark and crazy tatooos people will be like "umm cool but I can't really imagine myself committing to that."

Relationship Ideals

Fae value caring and happiness above beauty, materialistic gifts, and sexual attraction in a relationship, so couples that help each other through hard times and make each other happy are seen as the best matches. Fae do not care which gender likes which, just as long as the love is true
