Properties

Material Characteristics

The wool that comes from Korafoi Yakk and sheep is one of the warmest, softest, and lasting wools in all of Eainor. Most trolls are clothed in it, and it is given sometimes as a gift to someone who has done a great favor to a troll.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Korafoi Wool seems to be basically the same color as regular wool, but it blends into its environment with ease; not invisible, but becoming part of the background. It is surprisingly strong and lasting considering its soft texture, and it keeps nearly all its favorable qualities underwater as on land.

Geology & Geography

It only comes from the backs of Korafoi herds, which roam Eainor in search of safe meadows of grass.

Life & Expiration

Fabric made from Korafoi Wool will last over a hundred years without losing its strength or softness, but it will seem more and more like a part of the wearer as the years go by.

History & Usage

Discovery

It was discovered by the First Korafoi (remind me to make an article about that) who then fully domesticated the species that produced the wool.

Everyday use

Most trolls wear clothes made from a combination of Korafoi Wool, moss, lichen, and tree bark. The Wool has special properties that allow it to seamlessly bond with the other materials

Refinement

Some who have wrongly stolen Korafoi Wool make it into thinner and more precise thread to make fabric much different from the rugged but hardy troll-fabric. This type of fabric is extremely rare, but if it can be found at all, it would be on unsavory types.

Reusability & Recycling

The fabric can be reused, but it is not often re-spun because it takes much effort. However, it is biodegradable if buried under ground, so unusable Wool is often buried, and it disintegrates within a few weeks.

Distribution

Storage

Extra Wool is given to other trolls who need it, and if no trolls need it, it will be buried and allowed to disintegrate. Trolls rarely need replacements of fabric, so there is no need for them to store it.

Law & Regulation

There are very little actual laws related to the Wool, but it is generally seen as unscrupulous to have human-made Korafoi Wool garments because they are not made by anyone who has not stolen from trolls.

Rarity

With less than twenty-five Korafoid, each with a herd of about twenty that need shaving only once a year, it is extremely rare, not to mention the fact that Korafoid keep it hidden from all races but their own.
