The Word

The Word is not so much a language as it is a magic skill. It is the skill to understand all languages, and advanced learners make their words understandable to listeners regardless of what language (if any) they know. But this talent can be used for far more than communication, or rather, communication can be used for far more than simply the passing of information.

Just as a profound poem can make you cry, so too can an adept Wordsmith. In Irish legends, jesters witty enough could cut welts into a Man's face with a biting insult. While you cannot physically cut anyone with The Word, you have the power to severely damage their psyche.
