Scientific Spectrum

Since ancient times, many scholars have debated whether the current state of science should be treated with a scientific approach or a literary approach. This question may seem redundant, however, many authors throughout history viewed science on a philosophical approach. Danut Secilla, an important 6th century academic, proposed organizing every individual field by two parameters: Theoretical vs. practical and the amount of knowledge we have on that field, all registed in a number between 0 and 1. The following list contains a list of fields of study that are organized by the parameters above:   Field: Theoretical vs. Physical | Amount of knowledge -Physics: 0.5 | 0.2 -Logic: 0 | 0.95 -Alchemy: 0.6 | 0.3 -Divination: 1 | 0.12 -Algebra: 0 | 0.8 -Geometry: 0.04 | 0.9   One major critic of this system is the fact that the amount of knowledge varies as new questions arise and are answered. Danut answered by preparing this method not as a constant truth, but by a rough estimate. Another proposal that he made was to replace the 'amount of knowledge' parameter with an 'older than' parameter, which compares each field of study and calculates the amount of fields of study that is older than, divided by all fields of study currently presented. Using this new parameter, a table should look something like this:   Field: Theoretical vs. Physical | Older than -Physics: 0.5 | 0.33 -Logic: 0 | 0.17 -Alchemy: 0.6 | 0.5 -Divination: 1 | 1 -Algebra: 0 | 0.67 -Geometry: 0.4 | 0.83
