Raiders
The Raiders were a new danger that followed the bombs. Survivors who banded together, and lost themselves. Murder and death quickly became their focus. Survival a part of it, but wasn't it always easier when you simply took from those who farmed the land instead of doing the work themselves?
"Raiders were the first faction to rise from the ashes of the world left behind. But they weren't the last, and the raiders themselves quickly spread and broke apart smaller bands forming and each beginning to form their own rules and customs as they forged their own path's and made names for themselves." - Korigan Kent, of the KnightsThe raiders are one of the most dangerous factions of the wasteland, for many reasons. Some of which have to do with the differences between each band, none of which hold to the same structure or customs of the rest. Some are willing to massacre the settlements they strike and others strive to enforce a sort of "protection fee" on any settlements in their "territory". These differences make dealing with different raider bands all the more difficult, and all the more dangerous.
Naming Traditions
Unisex names
Raiders generally had a habit of taking new names when they left their original lives behind. Whether they were from settlements or simply wanderers, it was abnormal to run into a Raider still holding onto that original link to their past.
Culture
Shared customary codes and values
Raiders generally form bands, led generally by one Raider who has proven themselves to be the strongest. Raiders value prowess in battle before anything else, if a member of a raider band proves weaker than the rest or is otherwise insufficient in the eyes of the other members they will generally either be forced out or killed. Raiders are known for many things but one of the most well known dangers that raiders pose is threatening settlements and trade caravans. They are well known for taking and torturing other wastelanders, sometimes for information, and other times just for fun.
