The modern monster is also educated and belligerent, though the term is used for fewer and fewer groups. As more races and creatures arrive from the war-torn world on the other side of "The Fracture", the Modern world expands and comes to encompass more diverse options for what it means to be "Mortal". Its now more than common to find out that your neighborhood has a resident Elf, Orc, Werewolf, Zombie, or even a clan of vampires. Though the numbers are rising as the conflict within the "Fracture" wears on, they still only account for a small percentage of the population.
With this increase came the introduction of magic, and its strange powers being used in the modern world. Since the appearance of the "Fracture", the population of the world has been growing more magical, almost in tandem with the increase of the "Fracture Races".
