Causes

Someone can become an elevated deity if enough people give them Faith. This state is a direct consequence of how this magic works: when praying, a tiny part of the mortal's soul is converted into Faith through devotion. This means the more people worship a being, the more this being becomes powerful until they form a godhood and claim a domain.

Treatment

To become an elevated deity, the being has to be mentally powerful enough to subdue the power given through Faith. The methods to acheive this can vary according to the person.

Prognosis

If the mind is strong enough, the being becomes an elevated deity, at the same rank as a god, and is then able to change their plane of existence but if the mind is weak, the person will receive excrutiating pain and decend into madness while still being powerful.

Affected Groups

Any person who gets worshipped can become an elevated deity.

Cultural Reception

They are either revered and/or fear the same way gods are.
