Bettara

Paxetta magnificus

Paxetta magnificus is an abyssal zone kaiju resembling freshwater betta fish. Three known individuals have been recorded thus far, each given specific names due to their distinct features. All three individuals are capable of producing bioluminescence patterns on their body and fins, each individual have their own unique pattern. This bioluminescence appears to be a form of communication between members of the species and even other kaiju. Aggressive predatory kaiju have been documented to be pacified by extended exposure to their glow, study into replicating this for kaiju prevention technology is ongoing. Far more peaceful than their non-kaiju relatives, Paxetta spend most of their time gently floating on the current passively absorbing ambient radiation and filter feeding ocean snow.

Levi:
Levi was the first Paxetta discovered, after reported kaiju activity in the ocean depths, a research task force was deployed to the area and was met with this peaceful species. Levi's pattern is a mono white body with bright red fins. Its fins are wide and branching.

Faze:
Faze is the only female of the species found and was discovered alongside Odin. Faze's body pattern is primarily blue with individual white scales scattered along its body. Its fins are mono blue and short and round.

Odin:
Odin is the second male, and unlike bettas, Odin and Levi do not act aggressively towards each other. Odin's body pattern is a darker blue with a red head, its fins are red in the center with a rim of blue around them, its pectoral fins differ from both other specimens, these fins are far larger and fan-like, these waving fins are light blue in colour.
