Brown Jackalope

Antelepus antilocapra

The Brown Jackalopes plays the essential role of the common prey animal, forming the foundation of many food webs of Titanios in the countless ecosystems the brown jackalope and its many relatives find themselves in. Like the folklore creature its named after and perhaps even inspired, the Jackalope appears like a hare with antlers. These antlers are present in both males and females, but only the males possess branching antlers while the females possess small nubs. Males use these antlers just like male cervids, to combat each other for the females in their Husk. These lagomorphs breed throughout the year, depending only on the amount of available resources. Many species of mesopredators may exclusively hunt jackalopes in particularly productive years. But Jackalopes aren't completely defenseless, especially the males than can stab with their antlers and kick with their powerful legs.
