Dagon
Gigantis dagon
Gigantis dagon (Dagon) is an ancient relative of Godzilla, and an example of a naturally evolved version of the kaiju. This Permian age titan, if ancient texts are to be believed, acted as a balancer of nature itself, actively hunting down destroyer ranked kaiju or other unruly hyperfauna.
Dagon's existence and relation to Godzilla has provided unique theories on the genus's evolutionary history. The Bio-Nuclear nature is theorized to be shared by a common ancestor, and that Godzillasaurus possessed many vestigial hyperfauna traits that were reactivated upon heavy mutation from radioactive sources, creating a species that resembles Dagon.
Dagon possesses most of the abilities Godzilla has shown thus far, with the exclusion of the nuclear pulse. Dagon, however, is much more conservative with its atomic breath, preferring to use it as a last resort and will only use it frequently in battles with significant threats. To compensate, Dagon is far more adapt in melee combat. This Gigantis was discovered deep in the Antarctic circle, frozen underneath a mile of ice. It was frozen along side, Jinshin-Mushi, the queen of a parasitic kaiju species, the two having been locked in a battle prior to their entrapment. Dagon used to be the Apex Kaiju before the arrival of Godzilla, with the entire hyperfaunic ecosystem centered around his kingdom. When Dagon became frozen within the ice, the sudden absence of an apex kaiju sent most other kaiju that were subservent to Dagon into various states of dormancy. The appearance of Godzilla and thus the appearance of a new, similar Apex signal seems to have begun to restart the hyperfauna food chain.
It is unknown if Godzilla and Dagon should fight if the latter is freed from his hibernation, but evidence shows that there can be only one Apex kaiju on the planet, and if another were to contest the current Apex, there would be a fight for dominance.
