Leviathan

Aquaspatiator leviathan

Aquaspatiator leviathan (Leviathan) is a tetrapodomorph fish similar in appearance to a massive lungfish, but contains many features similar to those of an amphibian. Discovered in the northern region of the Grand Canyon, Leviathan lays dormant within the sandstone in a burrow just large enough to fit the creature inside. The space is lined with a thick mucous to prevent Leviathan from drying out, and it's metabolism and heart rate are at an almost standstill. It is theorized that should Leviathan become exposed to water, it will reanimate, much like the behavior of that of an African lungfish.

The front and rear fins of Leviathan are structured similar to those of early amphibious tetrapods. Leviathan also possesses several features found in ray-finned fish, such as dorsal fins similar to Bichir fish. Leviathan's long serpentine body houses two bladder organs that contain large volumes of water. These sacs are used to hydrate the creature during long migrations on land, but they are also used for defense. Leviathan is able to superheat the water within these bladders, which are then released out of the mouth at incredible speeds. The mouth of Leviathan is able to unhinge in a similar fashion to that of a sarcastic fringehead, and the kaiju uses this ability to focus and aim the jets of water it produces. Leviathan also uses this water beam as a hydro-powered cannon; picking up large objects in its mouth and building up pressure in order to lauch these objects at high velocity.
