Megashark

Carcharodominus abyssus

Carcharodominus abyssus (Megashark) is a massive 190 meter long shark kaiju discovered beneath a thermocline of hydrogen sulfide located at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Capable of withstanding extreme pressures but just as capable of swimming in higher regions of the ocean, this shark has several adaptions that allow it to live in the pitch darkness of the depths. The body of the creature is serpent-like and lined with complex patterns of bioluminescence which can be used in bright flashes bright enough to blind attackers when their eyes are accustomed to total darkness. The electroreception this shark possesses is extremely sensitive to movement, capable of feeling the smallest heart beat of a creature thousands of times smaller than it. The mouth of Megashark possesses two jaws, the inner jaw is capable of extending out similar to a Goblin Shark or Moray Eel. Megashark hunts in a similar way to pythons and boas, restraining prey with its long body and delivering as many lethal bites to its target as possible to bleed it out. Megashark's light sensitive eyes restrict it to hunting in abyssal zones or during night.
