Shinomura
Xenoradiocarnifex primordius
Shinomura is the designation given to a super colony of Archaean organisms which work together to form the appearance of a larger organism. The link between the cells is poorly understood but may be a loose example of convergent evolution with eukaryotic multicellular organisms.
Shinomura is a superorganism composed of countless smaller organisms which join together into a single body. Due to this structure, Shinomura can split apart into multiple bodies and recombine later. It also has complete control over the shape of its body and can change at will to fit its current situation; wings, mouths, tendrils and claws are among the various structures it can form.
Although Shinomura is not a single creature and the lifespan of the individual cells is relatively short, DNA analysis show the species is nearly 2.7 billion years old and may be one of the oldest complex organism on Earth. The supercolony may have spent their time swarming around volcanic vents before the appearance of eukaryotic cells, at that point Shinomura may have turned predatory. As life became more complex, Shinomura adapted its lifestyle and diet until other kaiju may have appeared, by then the creature changed from predatory to parasitic and scavenger, feeding on the radiation of other kaiju like the Mutos and other very ancient kaiju, this radiation rich diet seems to supercharge reproduction within the colony, allowing for the colonial creatures form to grow larger and thus target larger kaiju to feed on.
