Skull Crawler

Cranium reptant

C. reptant (Skullcrawler) are large, two limbed reptiles with a long prehensile tail and muzzle that looks like a skull that houses hundreds of sharp teeth and a long semi-prehensile tongue. C. reptant is a strange species for several reasons, first the taxonomy of the Skullcrawler is heavily disputed with some placing it under Varanus (Monitor Lizards) and some theorizing that it is related to the ancestors of Serpentes (Snakes). Second C. reptant is consider both megafauna and hyperfauna (kaiju), Skullcrawlers reach sexual maturity around 5 years of age, by then they are around 10 meters in length and 3 meters in height however they continue to grow their entire life with one specimen 120 meters in length and 36 meters in height. The size of the individual greatly affects their behaviour and prey items, the smaller Skullcrawlers are pack hunters and tend to use their razor-fields of mouths to open as many deep wounds of their prey as possible then retreat to let blood loss or infection to bring them down. Larger hyperfauna Skullcrawlers prefer to restrain their prey in prolonged battle with their long prehensile tails and land precise bites on the prey’s jugular or important arteries. C. reptant is consider a hypervore, which are carnivores in a near constant state of starvation which forces them to seek prey whenever possible, this is due to their extremely high metabolism which is far higher than any other reptile on earth. Most of this energy is put into their growth, and more specifically their muscle development. Skullcrawlers are considered invasive and to be culled when possible. According to Agent reports, a hyperfauna sized C. reptant was used long ago to wipe out the M. kong species to near extinction.
