Skull Island Hornbill

Rhyticeros skullus

Rhyticeros skullus (Skull Island Hornbill) is a common bird flying throughout the island's canopy and a veracious insectivore, primarily feeding on the variety of neopedes that call the jungles home. Completely immune to the venom that its prey possesses, the hornbill has a food source almost exclusively to itself. The powerful beak of the hornbill is perfect for crushing the hard chitinous shells of its prey.

However during times which neopedes are scarce, the Skull Island hornbill can switch to fruits and nuts, as well as small lizards and mammals. Skull Island Hornbills are known to nest in areas Venatosaurus impavidus have taken for their territory, the raptors generally leave the birds alone due to their habit of eating the neopedes that would threaten their eggs and the raptors scare off anything that would eat the birds or their eggs.
