Skull Island Shark

Otodus skullus

Skull Island Shark is the most common predator found in the oceans around Skull island, like the other inhabitants of the waters around the island, the Skull Island Sharks are cut off from the rest of the world’s oceans by the hypercane that perpetually circles the Island. Females are far larger than the males, being 6-8 meters while the males grow between 5-6 meter. These sharks specialize in hunting the offspring of the few marine reptile and whale species that also call this pocket ocean home. Females give birth to live pups in late August around the Northern Islets of Skull island. Skull Island Shark females can be impregnated by multiple males with different sperm able to reach different eggs, this removes the need for the adults to fight however this does not prevent a different form of competition. Within the womb of a pregnant female, the most developed embryos will being to cannibalize its siblings, this usually continues until between 1-3 shark pups are left. Although there is no direct parental care, mothers will remain in the area they gave birth in for around a month which drastically increases the pups chance of survival by scaring possible predators out of the area.
