Striped Longfin Tuna Species in Earth | World Anvil

Striped Longfin Tuna

The striped longfin tuna is a member of a quite diverse pleagic Scombridae family found within the oceans of the Vernean Cavern. Their behavior is quite simple, travelling in large schools for protection and staying mostly in deep, open waters. Their most notable feature, which gives their name, are the signature silver and black striped pattern that crosses laterally over their bodies. One of the less common species in their family, the striped longfin is also notable for having much longer fins, allowing for them to maneuver themselves much more quickly than their short finned relatives. Due to such an adaptation, striped longfins are often found in waters that most other open ocean fish would find too dangerous to inhabit.
