Vale Carrion Parrots are usually strict scavengers, however during the nesting season of the Bone Budgie, these carrion eaters switch to nest raiders, actively searching for unguarded eggs and chicks. Mated pairs of Vale Parrots will also work together to bait a guarding parent from its nest and steal its young. When selecting a mate, Vale Parrots hens will choose the male with the brightest feather tips which are constantly being flashed from their perch, higher perches with more light to reflect are most prized and fought over.
