Vastatosaurus

Vastatosaurus rex

Vastatosaurus rex is one of the largest non-kaiju carnivores on Skull Island, with only some Dracosaurs growing larger. V-rex is a 15 meter long tyrannosaur closely related to the extinct Tyrannosaurus rex. V-rex is highly adapted to the rugged terrain of the jungles and mountainous regions of Skull Island, their skeleton is capable of bending and flexing far more fluidly than other tyrannosaurs, which allow them to swiftly turn and swerve while hunting in the dense jungles and uneven terrain, these adaptations allowed them to persist even after the great earthquakes ravished the island. V-rex is a ambush/persistence hybrid hunter, aimed to get as close as it can but can keep up a prolonged chase if it is spotted, using the terrain to further tire its prey. V-rex are usually solitary animals however they will form family packs consisting of a male, female and their young, these packs last about two years maximum before the male drives both the female and young out of its territory. V-rex juveniles and adolescents form packs which will last until they reach sexual maturity. Fossil evidence shows that V-rex was the main predator of Megaprimatus young with bones of both M. kong and M. denham infants show bite marks of Vastatosaurus.
