Venatosaurus

Venatosaurus saevidicus

Venatosaurus is a large pack-hunting dromaeosaurid that calls all corners of Skull island home. The grey raptor can grow up to 7 meters in length and preys on creatures 10 times its own size including Brontosaurus baxteri, using overwhelming numbers to mob prey. Much like the larger V-rex, Venatosaurus is far more flexible than its ancestors, able to weave around obstacles with ease. Venatosaurus is intelligent, capable of limited problem solving and using strategy when hunting. Packs are ruled by a dominant male, this alpha rules through threat of violence, quickly resorting to physical punishment on transgressors. The reign of alphas are usually short lived. Venatosaurus chicks are just as aggressive as the adults, a nest of 12 can quickly be dwindled to 2-3 through facultative siblicide, although brutal, this further helps the pack by ensure the strongest and most aggressive live. Although most of the islands inhabitants are suitable prey for these animals, Venatosaurus will focus on killing any Vastatosaurus juveniles they come across to remove future competition. Ancient art found in the ruins found across the island depict feathered raptors that match the description of Venatosaurus, this followed by the discovery of a skin disease that is found in every Venatosaurus individual passed down on a genetic level proved that the species is not naturally featherless.
