Yamata no Orochi

Yamata no Orochi (Orochi) is one of the most concerning kaiju discovered, not for its size or power, but its origins. DNA samples provide no match to any living organism on Earth. While there is the possibility that it is a completely new species, the cellular structures themselves bear nothing similar to those shared across species on Earth, posing the theory that this kaiju is extraterrestrial in nature. Located deep beneath Klyuchevskaya Sopka Volcano within the magma chamber, the creature was discovered awake, but restrained via technology of unknown origin. Orochi shares the appearance of a mythical hydra or dragon, possessing eight heads, each with their own unique horn structures. Three heads sit above both shoulders, one head extends from the upper chest and the largest head sits behind the chest head. Neural scans reveal the intelligence of the kaiju is divided among each head, with the largest containing the most and the furthest to the sides containing the least. Orochi possesses two massive front legs and multiple vestigial back legs. Orochi has been observed occasionally thrashing against its restraints, these movements resulting in volcanic activity and small scale eruptions. During these movements, Orochi has demonstrated two projectile attacks. One is a burst of flame from the mouths of the creature, and the other being a sort of laser being shot from the eyes. It is unknown how Orochi was contained in its current location. Upon further research of the origin of the kaiju, it was found that many ancient myths depict a near apocalyptic battle between a creature in similar appearance to Orochi, and a large armored humanoid. Efforts are ongoing to determine if the creature depicted is Orochi, and if the humanoid is a possibly undocumented kaiju.
