Martian Senate

The Martian Senate resides in the capital city of Draxus. There are 7 senators total, with each house from the Martian Royal Court having a senator, and the other 2 spots are voted on by the people. There is no rule against male Martians becoming a senator, however, there has yet to be a male senator. These 7 senators all advise the Queen, but ultimately the Queen has final say on every matter. If the Queen dies, the senator from House M'orzz will become the temporary Queen until an heir from House S'imms is found.
On Earth, things a little different. Martians are not as strict about sending male Martians to be on the senate, as Martians generally don't regard these positions with as much prestige. Just like on Mars, each house gets a senate seat and the people each get to vote for 2 senators as well. House S'imms will also send a senator to Earth, to make it 8 senators total.
