Magna terra Repromissionis

Infinite Africa.

Written and created by Richard Bradley.
Magna terra Repromissionis -- simply known to many as Magrepissi, Infinite Africa, or Neo-Africa -- is considered not only the largest, but the most beautiful of all of the continents on the world of Novanati. It is also considered the place to go if you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself, to help the world in a way that will live on long after you. Life flourishes here; with many different ecosystems, biomes, and environments, there is nothing Magrepissi doesn't have.

The name literally translates to Land of Great Promise from Latin. As is common for the rest of Novanati, Latin is the most common language here and is the official continental language. However, depending on where you go, different languages are spoken which correspond to that area's location on Earth's Africa. Essentially, the country called Indicium (translates to "tip") is located in the same place as South Africa on an Earthen map. Therefore, the animals there also speak all languages recognized in South Africa.

Like the rest of the world, Magrepissi extends infinitely downwards. This is to ensure that borders above ground remain the same, and that travel between countries is possible, but there is also enough space to support all life. Although many places are technically underground, they would not appear to be underground if you looked at it standing there. Layers of the continent are divided based on the time period each Great Extinction Event happened in. Because the most recent is the Holocene, that layer is naturally on top. The earliest Great Extinction Event, which would be the Ordocovian-Silurian extinction events, is at the very bottom. Because there is no core to Novanati, there is no difference in temperature or environment other than it matching what that area would have been like during the time period.
Called a place of great promise and opportunity, this is the most diverse of all of the continents.

Huh. This is really neat. I like how positive you portray when, historically in the real world, Africa has often been seen so negatively. How does the world work without a core?

That's really what inspired me to make it so positive, since a lot of people think Africa is desolate. And the world exists in its own unique dimension so it doesn't need a core!

I like your article, although I wish you had given us a bit more detail about this world. Are all the animals the same as they are in our present? Or are there some species present on Magna terra Repromissionis that have gone extinct? What resources and technology are available to the people who live here?

I think that the article could use some clarification in the area of the layers? of the continent. I find it rather difficult to follow what you mean by that. Especially with out links or tooltips explaining what some of those things mean. Some additional context would be nice though I would only add single lines of it so that the reader can understand without diving deeper in but would be encouraged to do so. The most important of things this article needs is links to other articles. Things like link for the planet. Links to what ever the extinction events are and others. Onto the positive. I find the respect for Africa to be great and find the new versions of Earth countries an interesting idea. Further I would say my biggest, though not really the most important, complaint would be that I want more and I find that to be a high compliment in my book and I hope you do as well. Keep up the good work.
