Informational Setup

Informational Setups — or Infosets, as they are commonly known as — are bracelet-like devices with the capability to sustain a single solid light projection. They are commonly used as watches, communication devices, and mobile computers by the general populace. There are many models and types of infoset available, from the generic-brand infosets available to students to the highly advanced infosets used by the Engineering Brigade of the Great American Alliance.

Modifying an Infoset

Remember, you can change the color of the light bar in the settings menu!
— A side note in the instruction manual of an infoset

Modifying an infoset as a Do-It-Yourself project is highly discouraged by most manufacturers, as the solid light projector contained in the light bar of the device is susceptible to scratches. The one modification endorsed by nearly all manufacturers is known as "skinning", and involves modifying the appearance of the external casing by applying a thin layer of plastic, leather, or fabric over it. Skinning mimics the case changes of mobile phones, and many companies have capitalized on the desire for infoset customization.

Limited Editions

What?! You have the Lily-edition Infoset?!

Many manufacturers come out with yearly special-edition infosets in January. These infosets are limited in number, with only around five-thousand of any given special-edition infoset made. The most popular brand — Keenubi Electronics — has flower-inspired infosets available from January until March. These special infosets have flower patterns engraved on the external casing of the device as well as a single gemstone representing the flower embedded in the casing.
