Arnaud "The Count" Cazenave
Originally a French wine merchant, Arnaud Cazenave arrived in New Orleans near the turn of the 19th century and ran a small café at the old Absinthe House. In 1920, he opened his own eponymous restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter where he experienced meteoric success. A witty raconteur with a courtly manner, the city dubs him “The Count,” and he enjoys rubbing elbows with cultured epicureans of all stripes. As a friend of Jackson Elias, he helps support the symposium by providing funding and facilities, as well as accommodation for the investigators.
