House Corrius

The proud and prestigious House Corrius has its roots among some of the first Theran immigrants arriving in Vivane sometime around 200 - 220 TH. Hailing from a strong lineage of warriors, the Corrius family pledged its allegiance to the kings of Landis and quickly rose to hold many prominent positions within the kingdom’s military. Eventually Corrius was elevated to a noble house of its own, and until the destruction of Landis’ armies in 440 TH, House Corrius was synonymous with the armed forces of Landis. Even after suffering tremendous losses and the fracturing of the kingdom as a whole, House Corrius continued to foster a strong martial tradition. Many heroes of the house forged their legends as monster-slayers and warlords, and they fought bravely and valiantly against the Horrors.

The Corrius family has always had a favorable disposition towards the Therans. Faced with their own crumbling kingdom, House Corrius spoke eagerly to the other nobles of things such as fealty, protection and stability when the empire was formed in 443 TH, shortly after Landis’ own defeat at the hands of Cara Fahd. However, the other houses would not listen, and House Corrius eventually laid the matter to rest and simply continued to foster trade and relations of their own.

Rather than risking the citadels of Landis, House Corrius sheltered in Vivane during the Scourge under the protective wings of the Theran empire. Unsurprisingly, four hundred years spent shoulder to shoulder have only strengthened the bond between the two, and House Corrius now sees itself as the obvious and rightful choice of a future Landis under imperial yoke.

After the Scourge, the family settled in the southern regions of Landis in the Theran garrison town of Lankarden and became equally enmeshed in the military organization and slave trade present there. When the Therans lost the Battle of Sky Point and retreated from the region, House Corrius quickly played their cards right and took control of Lankarden. They have continued operations pretty much the same as before the Therans left and now command a sizeable and well-defended garrison - all the while raking in profits from the many mercenary slavers selling their captives in Lankarden and shipping them off further south to the Antandair enclave.
