Mechanics & Inner Workings

It has been suggested that either the Wizard imbues his nanotech or executes programs through a device or a medium which is compatible with his or her genetic/ brainwave makeup. Others think the imagination of the Wizard is not enough to create the powerful effects that are witnessed, hence a substrate medium is required to amplify the sheer willpower of the Wizard.

Manufacturing process

Sorcerors are able to imbue some of their powers in spell vessels to give them boosts or exceed the limits of their skills. It is not known that Wizards do this as well, but we are investigating.

GM ALERT

The Catalyst System is not designed for players. Wizards are usually NPCs. However, if you are interested in fleshing out a system that is balanced and fun I'm all ears!

Catalyst Systems

Starfinder inspiration - The intuitive route involves just following the rules of Technomancers and the Starfinder Spell List. However, the iconic magic spells like Summoning are not fleshed out.

Catalyst Narrative/ Game Points

Like all video game "Bosses", the "Kryptonite" Catalyst can be a means to finish off a villain once and for all. Hints can be placed throughout the campaign or story. Of course, there can be opportunity skill checks that can be offered to players. Otherwise, a nemesis relationship can be fostered as plans are foiled, but the Wizard returns at a later time.
