Issue Three: Midnight Fireworks

Missions/Quests Completed

Rocket protected Empath from Carbine, managing to help Merit take him away to their facility.

Notes

Rocket fought Carbine, an old foe of the previous Rocket who's determined to neutralize dangerous supers. Presumably after Empath, she set a trap which trapped the convoy in a construction site, where remote controlled Mettle Men construction suits were set to attack. Harrowed by traps and attacks, Rocket is barely able to protect the convoy, desperately tackling Carbine and taking her into the air. She says he'll have to make a choice, producing a bundle of explosives which she promptly throws down into the city. Rocket throws her into a building before grabbing the bundle and flying high. He calls Roy in a panic, stating "I'm not the Rocket, but I think I need to be for, like, 30 seconds. Please tell me how to do this." Roy simply tells him to fly high, and that he's proud of him. Rocket goes offline as the bomb explodes, leaving his fate unknown.   Meanwhile, No_Clip visits the remains of Mr. Amazing's Wonder Walk, an amusement park which closed many decades ago. Looking for clues, she stalks Charlie, who seems to be looking for the same thing. She finds traces of an odd, glowing purple goo that, when touched, invokes a similar despair to Empath's abilities. The park then comes to life-literally, with the ferris wheel and other objects animating and attacking Charlie. No_Clip manages to save him, throwing herself in the way whilst calling him a "shitty reporter". After a short fight she flees with him in tow, where they agree to team up to pursue this new lead.
