Aedanor
Description
Aedanor, or the Plane of Air, is a mystical place, whose beings and materials are made entirely of elemental air. This air takes on all forms of matter; it is even compact enough to be solid in many parts, permitting outsiders to exist within it. Most living beings in Aedanor live within the cloud-cities, where the clouds form solid archipelagos in the sky. The "ground" of Aedanor is less habitable, as the region is highly pressurized and difficult to endure, and void of all resources - just an endless, featureless field of cloudy white. Those who live in Aedanor are referred to as the Aedari. Aedari are typically free spirits, and their pockets are typically mish-mashes of republics and democracies, with no centralized ruler of dominant power inhabiting the plane. In fact, there have been multiple times that pockets have formed coalitions to destroy threats to their independence, most prominently against the influence of Arzoth, who considers the pocket of Arzonia his home.Pockets
Arzonia
Arzonia is the home of Arzoth, where his cult reaches to all Aedari. Arzonia is a bleak region where the clouds are dusty gray and the winds barely blow. It runs on the backs of an expansive slave class of heretics, upon which the ruling class of the pocket commits countless atrocities in the name of their god. Even suicide here fails to be an escape - Arzoth considers the act to be sacred. As grave as the situation in Arzonia is, it remains unconquered by the otherwise-libertarian folk of Aedanor, for it serves as a functional prison for the demon-god.Hjalstrom
Hjalstrom exists in the region of Aedanor which is best classified by the Quasi-Plane of Ice - the inexact boundary between Aedanor and the Plane of Water. It is the domain of Hjalvegr, who rules in name over the pocket, but enacts no governance in practice. In Hjalstrom, winds blow heavy and hail falls from the sky, battering the landscape. The Aedari are naturally adjusted to these conditions, taking on more fluid characteristics so that the hail passes through them without harm.Grand Republics of Fwish and Fwoosh
The Grand Republics of Fwish and Fwoosh lie in a pocket which inhabits the boundary of Aedanor with the Plane of Fire - the Quasi-Plane of Smoke. The air here becomes more toxic, hot, and dark, and the Aedari themselves take on a more gaseous form. The Grand Republics hold a unified government, representing two distinct cities, each of which makes up one house of the bicameral legislature.
