Barisean Sea

The Barisean Sea lies off the northern coast of Pharos. It was formerly known as the Sea of Staves before its dominance by the admiralty of Barisea. It is a secondary trade destination between the Kcalsbury Continent and Pharos, though it has declined in importance since Montbay's rise as a regional shipping power. The sea itself is almost entirely controlled by the Barisean navy, though piracy from Devania, as well as the Delos'Nordanian navy, is not an uncommon sight. It is quite calm and rarely experiences storms, sometimes earning it the nickname of "the Boring Sea."
The boundaries of the sea are typically regarded as the meridian which marks the eastern-most border of Arberia, the latitude which marks the northern-most tip of Delos'Nordan, and it extends arbitrarily to the seas beyond. Barisean explorers began venturing forth into these seas in the Age of Enlightenment, and they have colonized small islands which remain unmapped.
