Bellus Vrakis
Bellus Vrakis is the taken name of the creature typically viewed as the progenitor of the Fallen Ways on Eashavar. It is a false name, but many still do not dare to speak it, instead referring to the creature by various titles, most commonly "The Hooded One."
Vrakis emerged from the West Marches, following an expedition by the Lord Maraban Dragomir of Sylla, who sought wealth and influence. Lord Dragomir returned to his nation with the creature in his entourage, in the form of a horned man, face obscured by blackened hood. Vrakis' influence would lead to Dragomir and his company becoming the first Dhampir Lords, setting about a civil war and a plague of necromancy that corrupts this world to the present day.
The appearance of Vrakis is said to be malleable, and his location unknown. Some believe him to be merely a symbol, an invented myth to scare children and give the Syllans more terror than they are truly due. But all necromancers revere the creature, and speak his true name in hushed whispers when they conduct their rites and sacrifices. Whether he is real, the texts attributed to him are the primary sources for learning mastery over the Fallen Ways - luckily, most of them are lost today.
