Constituent Assembly

The Constituent Assembly was the republican government of Barisea, until the Admiral's Coup. The Assembly was the first democratic government to have official parties, an experiment which has been followed by the Kraalsko of Trinea. The Constituent Assembly fostered its own demise by a consistent policy of increase naval funding, which brought little of its promised rewards, and resulted in economic crisis. The admirals in charge of the bloated navy were more than willing to take over when the nation teetered at the edge of bankruptcy. The positions of the Assembly were first usurped by the admiralty in a predictable coup, leading to a de facto noble class which held all representative titles, but the Assembly was soon after abolished completely in favor of the dictatorship of the Grand-Admirals.
