Hilean Court
The Hilean Court is not an individual, but rather the ruling powers of Shanor. They are ruled by Queen Hilea, who is herself a powerful entity, though the court is typically referred to in whole because it executes her influence upon the Material Plane. The Court is typically viewed as demonic, though not related to the Ones Within.
The Hilean Court protects Shanor from the Creep caused by the Demi-Plane of Graves. It rules over most pockets of Shanor, and controls all normal interplanar portals. The Court also extends its influence into the Material Plane, visiting newborn children to corrupt them with the touch of shadows, which causes them to fade into Changelings.
A member of the Hilean Court is officially known as a Hilean, though on the Material Plane they are referred to as nightwitches. Hags are servants of the Hilean Court, mortals of the Material Plane who show fealty regardless of whether they are shadow-touched or not, themselves.
