Ulmirans

Description

The Ulmirans are distant relatives of the Cyrs and Myds, driven westward by the High Elves during the integration of the Pharosian heartlands into Delos'Nordan. They are a staunchly pacifistic people who follow the teachings of Ithea, a minor goddess of love and peace. While they have been known to fight and defend their territory, this is often a very last resort. Historically, many Ulmirans have spread and become integrated in other tribes because of their distaste for this pacifism in the face of invasion.   Within Nothgard, the Ulmirans today have significant autonomy and a mutual respect with the mainstream culture. Many Ulmiran tribes hold titular noble titles within the nation, which are technically attached to a single person, though which the tribe considers itself to have equal rights to. Ulmirans aren't necessarily opposed to hierarchy, and they have plenty of it within their own communities, but they view rights to land and existence as universal, and thus incapable of being held by one man. Today, most Ulmirans live on farmlands and at the edges of urban centers in their own insular communities, trading and contributing broadly to wider society.   Ulmirans opposed The River War, for which they were exempted from military service.
