Warp-Cult

The Warp-Cult is the dominant religious body within Lasthold, worshipping the powers of the Great Beyond and the Warp. They have a fanatical devotion to magic and its abilities to reshape the world, and they do not shy away from its dangers. The Warp-Cult is popular within the nation, as its image has largely been merged with the post of the Speaker-Grand-Protector - Lasthold's ruler - and thus with his cult of personality.
It is also critically important for the land's survival, as the capital, which houses upwards of half the country's population, has a massive vortex of arcana contained with in. This vortex is a flux of negative power which is being quarantined by the magical prowess of the Warp-Cult, and should they falter, it would likely explode and devastate the land. The size of such an explosion is unknown - but it could annihilate all life in Lasthold, or perhaps even the continent.
