Wasp

The Wasp is a recent development, a successful attempt at creating an engine-powered glider. It has a central metal body which can hold a person within it, atop which is perched an engine that can run for thirty minutes in case of crisis. The glider itself is not meant to run strictly on the engine, and attempts with larger engines have proved too heavy, though magic can enhance flight time, speed, and power.
The Wasp was invented in Kai'Rin, in association with Montbay and Barisea. Its military purpose is in scouting at sea, where breezes are often strong enough to keep the glider flowing at minimal power after the engine lifts the bearer to an impressive altitude.
