Description
The Yelentsi are an Old Faith tribe that predominantly inhabits the southern plains of
The Vale. They are a unique tribe, with their own language and distinct culture, who were largely untouched by the influence of
Delos'Nordan in the early ages. They originate from the
Summerpeaks, and are traditionally mountain-people; the modern caricature of a Yelentsi still involves their famous mountain goat-riders, who can traverse the rocks swiftly and smoothly, without any fear of a fall.
Today, the Yelentsi are a fiercely independent people who spend most of their time hunting in the plains at the base of the
Summerpeaks in the summer, before they retire to their more reclusive mountain homes in the winter. While in the plains, they typically ride upon stags, rather than their traditional mountain goats. They have an unusually high amount of half-elves among their ranks, due to trade and good relations with
Farenai,
Everaldimor, and even some High Elven refugees. They also have a comfort with higher-level magics, partly owed to their worship of the Ever-Changer,
Zvolt, and they even make utilitarian uses of
the Warp.
