Yelts

Yelts was once a prosperous city, a rival to Anceledra in Southmoor before the outbreak of the civil war. It has since become synonymous with atrocity, as Yelts' ruling Duke permitted vigilantes to kill all suspected of conspiracy or necromancy in the early stages of the war. Presently, three-quarters of the city stand reduced to rubble, the battered center blocked by walls constructed from the destroyed outer fragments, and plague ravages the survivors. For his role in Yelts' fall, the Duke was executed and the city guard took control. The reign of terror did not end, however, and the guard maintain their rule of the city with extensive violence and shows of tyranny. Nonetheless, the city's center stands, the guards successful in defending it.
