Southmoor is officially proclaimed as an independent state.
Southmoor had been settled for over two decades by the time it became a formal state. This had to do with resistance among the Old Faith tribes, who did not desire to be bound by borders, and who feared unequal representation in any official government. The nation of Southmoor was, at first, a mish-mash of unconnected borders which did not trespass on any tribal claims, as a result. Conflict soon erupted as dukes and counts sought to centralize their power over the new state by annexing those tribal claims anyways.
