The Muses Succession

Political event

1189

The Muse-Speakers and the Cult of the Celestial Dragon are handed authority over the kingdom of Adaetha.

With King Dundane accepting the guardianship of Vesamir over Adaetha (and in light of his own insanity), the influence of the monarchy rapidly faded. Dundane had two successors which were equally incompetent, though some believe that Vesamir took grip upon their faculties in an effort to propel himself to power.   Parallel to the royal lines' successive failures, the Muse-Speakers had become well-established and the Cult of Vesamir thrived throughout Adaetha. When King Dolthram died without a direct heir with the next-in-line unclear (as Halflings have large families and complicated successions), the Muse-Speakers were handed authority over the kingdom under the condition that the royal family would maintain a ceremonial role - with nine kings being named and given manors throughout the country.
