Legend Lore: Shothotugg

Shothotugg. Whether they’re aware of it or not, anyone who is unlucky to have stepped on the shores of Idriell already knows Shothotugg.
Despite having never seen this distant Elder Evil before, visitors claim to have known it since childhood. Names are made up and believed to be universally known. But what is called “Luna, the second Moon” or “El-ren, the Distant One” is no inanimate satellite.
Shothotugg, otherwise known as the Eater of Worlds, dwells in a distant corner of the multiverse, physically far removed from the material plane itself. An undulant mass of seething, broiling fluid, Shothotugg travels through the gulfs of space from world to world, poisoning and parasitising any world on which it alights.
Long ago, after digging through the ruins and forgotten sites of those that preceded them, the Oshran Empire found something utterly alien. An incomprehensible series of texts and instructions to usher “ El-ren” into the Material Plane. Those in the presence of the books were compelled, charmed, into doing it's bidding.
