Kyas Malisius, youngest of the Malisius family, saw the world around her crumbling. Eager to save the world, she looked for someone, anyone that would have her. Foot soldier, researcher - anything she could do to help. And she was accepted into the Court of Shadows; a Vigilante Justice group dedicated to hunting enemies of the Empire - and to bring them to eternal justice. With the Court of Shadows, Kyas was shown what would become of the world - and it frightened her. She had signed up to save the world, not to bring war criminals to justice while it crumbled around her. But the Court already had their claws in her. Kyas, already a powerful caster - stripped her mind from her body, and fled to the one safe place she knew; the Gleaming Halls. But even this was not safe.
Unbeknownst to Kyas, the Gleaming Halls had been converted to a prison - to capture a powerful Doppelganger named Rohini; but even this capture was flawed; Rohini corrupted even the strongest-minded near her, and so Kyas’ mind was twisted.
Kyas’ body stayed behind with the Court of Shadows - seeking Justice where possible. But her body always shared a connection, however slim - with her mind. To this day, Kyas’ shadow can be seen lurking the world, looking for heroes to defeat Rohini, and to destroy her mind - so that her body can fade away.
