“I wish I knew more about these monoliths.”
“Then you will peer into the Void.”
Lethonal Keybella never considered himself a religious man. He was content to delve into the forests and ruins of Idriell, ever curious about the appearing and disappearing Monoliths he had heard of. Lethonel had spent years, decades researching these Monoliths - but to no avail. There was never enough information, not even scholars in the farthest reaches of the world knew of such things. Late one fateful evening, the last man drinking at a local tavern, he lamented to the bartender Pikyr that he just needed to find one clue - one string to tie these Monoliths together. The bartender laughed, and took Lethonel’s hand, and dragged him into the Far Realms to show him what he sought.
Lethonel came back changed, touched by the Void. He had witnessed Shothotugg the Eater of Worlds - and felt compelled to bring about the Salvation of Idriell by his hand. But his eyes had seen much - and ripped them out with his own hands. Despite this - Lethonel could see, more than he could before. Serpents trailed the sky - the constellations replaced with a foreign sky, Lethonel had seen the true world. He knew then that he had to spread the word of the moon, El-Ren; that it must be brought to our world so that all could share in this healing light; that they may shed their false eyes so that the people might truly see.
Lethonel’s undead body was eventually slain, and the Umbral Court claimed his soul for the crime of being the true Catalyst for Ending the World.
