Legend Lore: Moldril Vance, the Keeper

“I wish I didn’t have to deal with all the riff-raff.”
“Then I’ll give you just one to worry about.”
Moldril Vance was a prominent Warden of a prison with the Oshran Empire. Though the structure is lost to time, Vance’s history as the best Warden in the Empire was notable; no one escaped his prisons, no one died of malnourishment or abuse, and all served their sentences. Vance was not considered kind, but stern, fair. In private quarters, though, Vance was troubled, frustrated with the criminals and reprobates he was laid charge over. One late night, he confided in his Head Guard, Pikyr, lamenting his position. His Head Guard was eager to give him a new position. Vance was given ward over just a single prisoner; Rohini. A cruel and corruptive influence. Using the Gleaming Halls that connected the sequestered Oshran Cities, Vance ordered the halls be sealed, and turned to a prison, to keep the ‘Demon’ sealed away, as none who approached could be trusted to execute her, as the Lanternbearers demanded.   In time, all who were sworn to keep Rohini imprisonerd were corrupted; being kept in close proximity to her for so long. Each of the 5 Keeper Monoliths; the Pathkeeper, the Watchkeeper, the Recordkeeper, the Dreamkeeper and the Gatekeeper. The 3 Wardens, the body of Vulwin Doreen, the mind of Kyas Malisius, and ultimately the soul of Moldril Vance. Vance’s perception of Rohini being a Demon caused him to suffer the fate of many Oshran Elves, being turned into a Tanarukk; a demon itself, immune to fire and filled with fury.   Though Rohini has become a changed person, Moldril Vance’s corruption still controls him to this day, as he skulks the Gleaming Halls to this day; cursed to destroy any who would enter.
