Leveling Up!

As your character goes on Adventures and overcomes challenges, he or she gains experience, represented by Experience Points (XP). A character who reaches a specified experience point total advances in capability. This advancement is called gaining a level.   The Character Advancement table below summarizes the XP you need to advance in levels from level 1 through level 20, and the Proficiency Bonus for a character of that level. Consult the information in your character’s class description to see what other improvements you gain at each level. Hit Points

Each time you gain a level, you also gain 1 additional Hit Die. Roll that Hit Die, add your Constitution modifier to the roll, and add the total to your hit point maximum. Alternatively, you can take your class's average instead of rolling.   When your Constitution modifier increases by 1, your hit point maximum increases by 1 for each level you have attained.
When leveling up please do the following:     1. Head to your character's thread in the #Character-Records channel on our Discord   2. Make a roll using the Avrae bot by sending a message with the following format:
!r hit die Level X HP roll for Character Name
e.g.
!r 1d10 Level 2 HP roll for Caelam
3. Please note that in EM it is considered impossible for you to roll below 2 less than the average result of your hit dice. See the table below for averages and minimum values.   4. Add your constitution modifier to your roll, and modify your total HP by that much.     Alternatively you may take the average value for your class. If you choose to do so please make a post in #character-updates regardless.

Keep in mind that you still add your constitution modifier even when you take the average.

Beyond 20th Level

aka Epic Levels

Keep track of any XP you gain beyond the 355,000 needed to reach the 20th level. This XP can be used to further enhance your character by using it as a currency to purchase various boons:

10,000 x Level Class Feature is gained Exchange Class Feature (if a choice is applicable)
20,000 x Spell Level Exchange or Learn a new Spell
75,000 Learn a new weapon, skill, or tool proficiency
100,000 Gain Expertise with a skill you are proficient in
50,000 + 5 Favor Choose a permanent Bronze Favored Boon
100,000 +10 Favor Choose a permanent Silver Favored Boon
150,000 +20 Favor Choose a permanent Gold Favored Boon
