Vanderhorst Estate

Outside the barrier of Vareholm, along the road to New Haven, lies a massive square plot of land surrounded by a wooden split-log fence, 500 feet long on each side. There is a modest gate off of the road with a path leading into the property which is still densely populated by trees. The path heads straight along to a clearing at the back of the property that overlooks the Vareholm Bay and in this clearing is a large house, the main center of which is a four story edifice of wood, stone, and glass with an elegantly carved, wooden, double door for the front entry. The path loops around a soon-to-be fountain in the front of the house.   This is the Vanderhorst Estate, still in its early days of life. The primary business of the Estate has shifted from timber to the cultivation of cranberries. The grounds of the Estate are inhabited by a number of buildings serving a number of workshop-based functions. Namely a sizable stable, wood shop for carpentry and woodworking, a small stone quarry and accompanying sculpture workshop, and an ice house/larder/kitchen building detached from the main house but connected by a covered walkway.   Just inside the main entrance of the house is a grand hall with a large fireplace, massive staircase, and multiple doors leading to the others rooms on the ground floor. A chandelier hangs in the center of the room from the ceiling of the floor above and is made from the petrified skull of a Roc with artfully placed candles.   The library serves as a sitting room and Regulus' office. Inside are a number of mostly empty bookshelves alongside couches, chairs, and desks. On one particular desk that is situated next to a window is a petrified Mind Flayer head. Above the room's central fireplace is a mammoth mounted crab claw.
