Seige Cart
Slow, but resistant to damage
By the gods this thing is slow but can take a beating like nothing else I have seenThe Seige Cart is visually speaking, a smaller, compact version of the siege tower. Visitors from other worlds have described it as a tank, but doing so often brings about looks of pity, as this is obviously a cart with armour on it. The basic concept is simple. Take a cart, slap on some armour, maybe seal it up in some way with doors for the crew to get in and out. The basic concept has worked for a long time, there are now almost as many variations as there are wars. This is something that even the most simple of groups can make, with variations on the size, speed, defence, with sub-variations such as;
- Drill Cart - Has an attached drill on the front for manually breaking down a wall
- Explosive - Designed to place an explosive at the destination - a once use item
- Troop Mover - Gets a lot of troops or soldiers into position quickly whilst defending them
Power Generation
Either none or a small internal steam like engine to power the wheels
Propulsion
Generally is pushed from behind like a siege tower, but some variations have some form of internal engine that powers and pushes the seige cart forwards
Weapons & Armament
Whilst the siege cart is normally used to get troops and other equipment into position, a few have been equipped with drills, explosive placement device and so on.
Armor and defense
Comes in three general variations:
- "Light" - A form of iron plating covers most of the cart, but the material is thinner compared to the standard type
- Standard - Steel or other a metal hybrid of iron and something else.
- Heavy - Reinforced with multiple layers, the slowest of the three types, but can take up to x10 the punishment
Communication Tools & Systems
Once within the cart and the door locked or sealed, communication with the outside is limited to arcane messaging .
Sensors
A toughened viewport made from a type of glass is the primary method for seeing outside the vehicle.
Additional & auxiliary systems
If the cart has defences against gas-based attacked by having a sealing door, then some form of air generation is present. However, these systems are notorious for not working properly.
